Only hours after I emailed Entrecard, my EC account was restored. Great support!

Entrecard deleted

One of the ways I get traffic from this little known blog is by using Entrecard. It seems that Entrecard has been hit lately by Entrecard credit farms and the way they are battling this is by weeding out blogs that they think are splogs or blog farms.

This inactive blog was hit by Entrecard's action in mass deletion of blogs that fall below their quality standard. For one, my blog posts total prior to deletion was only four. Entrecard requires a minimum blog posts of 5 to meet it's quality standard.

A good thing too as this forces me to be less lazy and make this blog more active.

I just wrote an email back to Entrecard asking to be reinstated into Entrecard. Will post about further developement.

How to spot scams

No Comment - Post a comment

Tell tale signs:

  • Work at home scams that require you to pay to be registered first
  • You get charged to sign up for a newsletter
  • The marketing company has no contact phone number
  • No contact forms on their website but they list a direct email link

Of course there are more points to add but the simplest of all is do a Google website search or a Google Blog Search and see what others have said about the company.

Advertlets: More positive posts?

No Comment - Post a comment

Didn't realise that Josh Lim actually replied to my previous post and gave URLs to more positive blog feedbacks. Anyway, I open this blog post to more feedback about Advertlets. Good or bad? Have your say ...

As for me, my own Advertlets income has come to an almost screeching halt. 'Almost' because my income is like 0.1 cents a day! :D

One positive post on Advertlets

Jerry Ong received his advertlets cheque two days after the infamous post at LiewCF.com complaining about late or non-existent payment from Advertlets.

After all the negative blog posts that has appeared in local blogs, it is only fair to also highlight those rare ones that commend Advertlets for payment. Granted that this is payment for April (3 months ago!!). Also, it is suspiciously coincidental that the cheque payment was made promptly after Jerry got to meet the founder and CEO Josh Lim at barcamp.

Still, not to take away anything from Advertlets, a positive blog post is a positive blog post. Heaven knows they need more of it..

Is Advertlets a scam too?

Many blogs have taken pot shots at this Malaysian based ad company and the latest salvo is from a guest blogger at LiewCf.com. It's a guest post from Wong Tech Jung who blogs on duller.kuluchew.com. He claims that Advertlets have been dragging their feet and delaying payments for months now. From the deluge of comments received, it seems almost all are negative. Poor PR or bad payment system may be the death of Advertlets yet.

You can read the post titled "Advertlets, You are Fired!" here.

OnlyInMalaysiaMah.com is a scam!

Jason Tan (if that is his real name) is selling an ebook that promises to help you make money online beyond your wildest dreams. This scammer has also invested in advertising using Google Adwords so you can see some of his adverts on Adsense pages.

I discovered the secrets of NOT having to go to work for the rest of my life and just watch Astro all day long... Best thing is I just need to turn on my Streamyx only 2 hours every week!

Well it's definitely a scam! I have a friend who bought his ebook that was full of rubbish and isn't anything you cannot find on the net. My friend is new to making money online but he says whatever in the ebook he already knows. In short, the ebook is totally useless.

But wait I'm not being fair. You can make money in this program.

Yes, and that's by reselling his empty promising e-book by being an affiliate! Hey if you are cheated, go cheat someone else to recover your money.

I'll post some screen shots of the websites so you don't have to visit the URL.

The total cost of the ebook? Only RM 90 (USD 27.50)

Even Malaysian first problogger LiewCF has exposed this site as a scam.

Update: http://www.adsensetaiko.com/index.php is another one of Jason's 'project'.
